Hold on pain ends
Welcome.
I'm Julia Hope, a Qualified Professional Counsellor with a very down to earth, gentle approach to my work.

Duration: 50 minutes
You may like to book an informal 15-minute no-charge chat about starting counselling, in which case contact me by email hello@juliahope.org or text 07349926080 and I’ll get back to you as soon as I am able to. Both the initial chat, as well as any sessions, are totally confidential - our conversations remain between the two of us.
Your immediate circle of family and friends may be amazing as support or perhaps you don't have anyone you feel you can talk to... sometimes we need a way to work through our challenges with someone who has no pre-conceived ideas about us. I'm here - let's see if I'm the right Counsellor for you.
I offer trauma-informed therapy for adults who want depth, honesty, and a real human connection. This isn’t about quick fixes or being told what to do. It’s about creating enough safety for you to explore what’s been held inside for a long time — at a pace that feels manageable.
Alongside talking, we may gently use creative or inner-child approaches to help you connect with parts of yourself that learned to stay quiet, cope alone, or grow up too quickly. You don’t need to be artistic, and nothing is ever forced. These approaches are simply another way of listening to yourself, when words aren’t quite enough.

Therapy with me is not about being analysed or judged. It’s a space where you can arrive just as you are — unsure, tired, emotional, or not knowing where to begin. We’ll take things slowly, checking in as we go, and adjusting to what you need in each moment.
Some sessions may feel quiet and reflective; others may include laughter, tears, or moments of realisation. I am able to hold both the lighter moments and the painful ones. My role is to offer a calm, steady presence — walking alongside you as you begin to make sense of your experiences and put your needs back on the map.
You don’t have to have the right words
Many clients worry they won’t know what to say, or that once they start talking it will all come out at once. That’s okay. There’s room here for things to arrive messily, slowly, or in fragments. We can take things one step at a time, finding shape and meaning together when you’re ready.
You are not your trauma. You are a whole person, with a history, strengths, humour, and resilience — even if it doesn’t always feel that way.
